Jessica Baker of Conway, S.C. wins second prize in the Paper Mate National Essay Contest

    The "Do The Right Thing" essay contest is a national essay contest. It is sponsored by Paper Mate, a division of the Gillette company.  Contestants were invited to write, in 200 words or less, an essay telling why Paper Mate should donate money to an important charitable organization in their lives.  Jessica chose to 
write about the Aynor Volunteer Rescue Squad. 
  By Jessica winning second place, Aynor Rescue received a check from Gillette for $500.00.  Mr. Bill Sokol of Paper Mate wrote, "at Paper Mate, we believe in the power of the written word to persuade, motivate, inspire, and change our world for the better."  The members of the Aynor Rescue Squad and the community are very greatful to Jessica Baker for her help.  This contribution will go towards our ambulance fund.
